Members' Gallery @ Hillyer Art Space
Hillyer Art Space would like to announce our new member gallery, an exhibition space dedicated to showing the best and brightest in the DC art scene. "nine" will have monthly exhibits and showcase the work of member artists only. This exciting opportunity will provide member artists the chance to exhibit their work as well as becoming part of the artistic community of Hillyer through its members-only programming and benefits.
Here is what you need to know:
Hillyer Art Space's Member Gallery will be specifically for showcasing artwork by members of IA&A.
- Members’ Gallery shows, either solo or group shows, take place on a monthly basis
- There is a call for submission every month (see below for explicit directions)
- All submissions are reviewed by Hillyer Art Space staff and its Artists’ Advisory Committee Members.
- Shows will either be juried or curated by a Hillyer Art Space Staff member or an Artists' Advisory Committee member.
- Each submission will be valid for a total of four months and available for consideration for that length of time.
- Artists cannot show work in two consecutive Members' Shows.
- Works may be for sale as per the artists' request. The gallery receives a 30% commission on all works sold during the exhibition.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- Submissions may address any topic.
- All media will be considered.
SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS:
- An email to danielled@artsandartists.org containing up to FIVE digital images per submission as a high resolution 300 dpi JPEG no larger than 1 MB (do not use GIFs, TIFFs or other formats). Any additional images (over the limit of 5), or any images that do not conform to the guidelines outlined will not be accepted.
- File Labeling - Files must be titled with the name of the artwork and a number indicating the viewing order. The numbers must correspond to the accompanying Image List. Use "0" (zero) in front of single digit numbers. If using Mac OS 8 or 9, include a ".jpg" extension at the end of each image title. Example: 01_Jones.jpg.
- A complete checklist of works containing the title, year, medium, and dimension of each work.
- Complete artist resume or CV, and artist statement in word document format.
