36 x 48 in.

Henryk Fantazos was born in Kamionka Strumilowa, near Lvov in former Poland, in 1944. He attended the Lyceum of Fine Arts in Katowice, Poland, from 1957 to 1963 and completed an M.F.A. in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Poland, in 1967. In 1975 he emigrated to the United States. He has exhibited in Poland, Germany, and America. His work is included in several public and private collections both in Europe and the United States. Drawing on the traditions of the Neue Sachlichkeit Viennese School and the Cracow Circle of Metaphorical Art, Fantazos creates haunting still lifes and poetic commentaries on contemporary urban existence.
