The Iranian Visual Arts Professionals Group is scheduled to arrive in the U.S. in April 2009 for 22 days and will travel between three cities in the U.S. (New York, NY; Washington, D.C.; and Charleston, SC). Participants will engage in workshops and training pertaining to visual arts management and will tour artist studios/workspaces and arts and cultural institutions as part of the ArtBridge program. Participants: We are seeking candidates who demonstrate a potential for future involvement in their local arts communities and are dedicated to contributing to education, youth and community building through arts-related activities. It is also equally important that artist candidates show a high quality of work and that they be early to mid-career visual arts professionals who have never traveled to the U.S.
Application process:
- Applicants must first submit an online application at www.usartstraining.org/app.php
- If you are eligible for participation in the ArtBridge program, a member of the USArts team will contact you to invite you to submit your supporting documents for the Iranian Visual Arts Professionals Group.
- Before applying to the ArtBridge program, please review the criteria below. Applicants who do not meet all of the criteria below may still apply, although it is strongly encouraged to read the program description (under “What is ArtBridge?” section of the website) carefully before applying.
Criteria for applicants to the Iranian Visual Arts Professionals Group is as follows:
- Applicants must have participated in a leadership role, the creation, installation or conceptualization of a show within the past 24 months or have an upcoming show within the next year planned by the applicant and approved by the institution hosting the exhibition (please send proof—signed letter(s) and promotional materials—of all shows in which you have participated or will participate in the future).
- Applicants cannot have previously visited the U.S.
- Applicants must demonstrate a potential for future community involvement through arts-related activities and be active in their local arts communities (participation in associations, organizations, teaching, working with youth, etc.)
- Applicants should be early to mid-career visual arts professionals with the serious intention of pursuing a career in the arts
- Applicants must possess a higher education degree (BA, MA or PhD) in an arts-related field, such as Art History, Visual Arts, etc.
- Priority will be given to applicants who work or have worked with public or non-commercial institutions
- A basic knowledge of the English language is encouraged, but is not required. Please note: a Persian-English interpreter will be available to all participants for the entire duration of the ArtBridge program in the U.S. If you feel that you meet all of the above criteria, but you are not proficient in English, please submit an application for consideration. Iran

The U.S. Curators Group is schedule to arrive in Iran for seven days of travel and visits to arts and cultural institutions in September 2009 and will engage in workshops and training pertaining to arts management and will tour artist studios/workspaces and arts and cultural institutions in Tehran as part of the ArtBridge program. Please continue to check back for a full schedule as venues and activities are confirmed.
Participants: We are seeking candidates who demonstrate a potential for future involvement in their local arts communities and are dedicated to contributing to education, youth and community building through arts-related activities. It is also equally important that candidates show a high quality of work and that they be early to mid-career visual arts professionals who have never traveled to Iran. Priority will be given to visual arts professionals working at organizations hosting ArtBridge participants or otherwise cooperating with the successful development of the ArtBridge program. Iranian Painters Group

Our final exchange group as part of the ArtBridge program will be the Iranian Painters Group, who will be invited to the U.S. in January 2010, also for 22 days. These dates are subject to change. Please contact the Program Manager for further details.
Participants: We are seeking candidates who demonstrate a potential for future involvement in their local arts communities and are dedicated to contributing to education, youth and community building through arts-related activities. It is also equally important that artist candidates show a high quality of work and that they be early to mid-career painters who have never traveled to the U.S. The criteria for applicants for the Iranian Painters Group are as follows:
- Applicants must be currently exhibiting work or have exhibited work within the past 12 months
- Applicants should be early to mid-career artists with the serious intention of pursuing a career in the arts. Early to mid-career artists are defined as either having exhibited in a minimum of five solo or group exhibitions or a maximum of 15 solo exhibitions.
- Applicants cannot have previously visited the U.S.
- Applicants must demonstrate a potential for future community involvement through arts-related activities and be active in their local arts communities (participation in associations, organizations, teaching, working with youth, etc.)
- A basic knowledge of the English language is not required, but is encouraged.
