2007
- Hillyer Art Space participates in several city-wide events such as ArtDC, Washington's first contemporary art fair, as well as ColorField.remix and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. Every first Friday of the month, in conjunction with Dupont Circle's Gallery Walk, Hillyer Art Space welcomes hundreds of visitors to view its exhibitions. Since April 2006, Hillyer Art Space has presented 14 exhibitions featuring 92 artists from both the local region and abroad.
- USArts celebrates five years as an organization authorized by the US State Department to issue J1 visas. USArts is now approved to issue Intern Visas in addition to professional Trainee visas. The program currently has nearly 100 active trainees across the US at any one time and has welcomed 400 participants since 2002.
- Traveling Exhibition Services receives a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for Art of Africa: Objects from the Collection of Warren Robbins. The grant is specifically geared toward historically black colleges and universities to provide funds for teacher workshops, family guides, and lectures to coincide with the exhibition. Traveling Exhibitions begins its first European tour with Tradition Transformed: Contemporary Korean Ceramics which debuts in at the Ormeau Baths Gallery in Belfast, Ireland.

- With the support of the DC Arts Commission, IA&A opens Hillyer Art Space, a non-profit art gallery created to better serve the Washington DC community, its arts institutions, and its artists. Hillyer Art space opens its first exhibition: Scratching the Surface: A Survey of Artists in the Washington Region opened July 13, 2006.

- IA&A announces a new collaboration with Magnum Photos, a photographic co-operative of great distinction with offices in Manhattan, London and Paris.

- John Hechinger, Sr. donates Tools as Art: The Hechinger Collection to IA&A. Approximately 400-pieces, this collection represents 20th-century art with themes of tools and hardware.
- In its first year, USArts places 26 professional trainees into arts intuitions throughout the US. The participants come from countries including Austria, Canada, India, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.

2002
- IA&A creates USArts, a career-training placement program that places international trainees in U.S. arts and culture-related organizations. IA&A receives official approval from the U.S. Department of State to become a sponsor for the J1 Exchange Visitor Visa.

- IA&A selected to present Kara Walker at the 2002 Sao Paulo Bienal which attracts more than 400,000 visitors.
- Barnes Foundation chooses IA&A to tour select portions of their Collection
